Surveying to Start Week of January 22

TVWD has contracted with S&F Land Services to perform surveying services in advance of an upcoming project in this area. S&F Land Services will be conducting land surveying and marking the public right-of-way in mid-January, starting the week of the 22nd.

The purpose of this surveying is to identify the optimal location for a future water main installation on SW Multnomah Boulevard and on 62nd Place to Garden Home Road.

There is no current start date for the water main project.

What is TVWD doing?

TVWD will install new 12-inch water main along SW Multnomah Boulevard from east of Kelsi Court to 62nd Place, and south on 62nd Place nearly to Garden Home Road. This connection will provide a new method to move water from TVWD's future Willametter Water Supply System to the current Garden Home Reservoir, including new valves for operational control of incoming water to the reservoir. Once completed, TVWD's Metzger service area will have a more resilient water system.

When finished, this project will improve the water system in this area, including reducing the need for future maintenance projects and emergency repairs.  This project is a nearly $900,000 investment in the TVWD Metzger service area.

A map of the project area is below. We appreciate your patience as we complete this water system improvement.

Construction Information

Construction is not yet scheduled. Timelines will be announced once set by permitting and staff availability.

Installing this new section of water transmission piping will require open trench excavation in at least some, if not all, of the project area. More information will be posted once engineering design and construction methods are established.

This project will be constructed by a contractor under the supervision of TVWD's inspection team.

Keep in Touch

TVWD will make efforts to limit noise, dust, and other construction experiences for neighboring customers, though noise, dust, and other disruptions should still be expected throughout. Please send any construction feedback to Outreach@TVWD.org so we can improve our operations.

How does this affect me?

Water Service Disruptions

Currently there are no planned water service interruptions related to this project.

If service interruptions are needed, they will be announced 48-hours in advance via door hanger, email, and phone calls.

Traffic Disruptions

Vehicular and pedestrian access within the project area will be limited during construction. Vehicles, heavy equipment and materials will be located in the work area and outside of work hours.

General Construction Disruptions

Installing water system equipment requires digging underground, this is often very loud and generates significant dust and vibration.
