Apply for a Water Leak Adjustment

Have you recently repaired a water leak at your home? If so, you may be eligible for a water loss adjustment to offset some of the costs from an increased water bill due to a leak.

Eligibility requirements include (but not limited to):
  • Repair leaks within 30 days from when the leaks are discovered or reasonably should have been discovered.
  • Fill out a Water Loss Adjustment form (digital and downloadable forms below) within 90 days of the repair, describing the cause of the water loss, repair(s) made, and date(s) of the repairs whether done by a professional or photo evidence of a self-repaired leak.
  • Eligibility requirements and more information is posted in the Rules & Regulations - See Section 7 for Leak Adjustment Policies.
Bill Adjustment Amount

TVWD compares the amount of water consumed in the same billing period of the previous year as normal water usage and will consider water usage greater than normal as excess usage. The adjusted amount will be the excess water use for no more than three billing periods (six months) for approved leak adjustment requests.

Timeline and Process

Once received, applications are reviewed by the Customer Service team within 30 days. Customers will be mailed a letter with the determination of their application (approved, denied, or if additional review is needed).
